TULSA TECHNOLOGY CENTER'S Early Care & Education Program
Tulsa Technology Center is now offering two Child Development Associate (CDA) Preparation Training options for you to choose from.
Your training options are: (1) “CDA…The Tulsa Tech Way!” or (2) “Early Education: Pathway to CDA”
CDA…The Tulsa Tech Way!
Tulsa Technology Center offers a variety of classes to help you earn your CDA credential. Students may enroll in any of the CDA courses in any order to accommodate individual schedules as well as preference of campus location. Textbook required. Your employer or another party may wish us to invoice them for your tuition and/or textbook. At time of enrollment, you must present the registrar with an authorization letter from the responsible third party that specifies your name, courses and specific time frame the organization or employer agrees to pay on your behalf. Tuition for each CDA Block is $75. Thirty clock hours available for each block except CDA Block 5.
Tulsa Technology’s CDA courses may be applied toward the Certificate of Mastery and/or an Applied Associate Degree offered at Tulsa Community College upon meeting additional TCC requirements for receiving academic credit. Students successfully completing CDA Blocks 1-5 with a letter grade of “C” or better in each class will be eligible to receive nine (9) academic hours from Tulsa Community College.
The CDA program at Tulsa Tech meets the criteria for Tier II or Tier III training on the Oklahoma Training Approval System. Each CDA course is rated as Tier II and is eligible for upgrading in its entirety to the Tier III status upon transfer and transcription of academic hours at TCC.

Entry Level Child Care Training (ELCCT) This required 20-hour course provides new and/or future child care professionals with knowledge needed to provide quality care for young children while helping each individual child develop to his or her full potential. The course contains information and learning activities that stress the importance of the caregiver and of child care work. Students will receive a course textbook at no additional cost. Entry Level Child Care Training Online This on-line course meets the DHS child care center licensing requirements for the entry level training for the first 90 days of employment in Oklahoma. Staff who have previously received this training are not required to repeat it unless there is a two year break in service. Students will receive a course textbook at no additional cost. Course tuition of $20 may be paid in person by cash, check, credit card or purchase order and is non-refundable or non-transferable. You will need a high-speed internet connection. Special Needs Education Certificate Program
This comprehensive series of ten special needs education modules has been designed to present information, tools, techniques and resources enabling caregivers to provide developmentally appropriate services to young children with special needs. This series is ideally suited for those caregivers working with children in the center classroom, family child care home, Head Start and public school-preschool programs. Each module meets the criteria for Tier II training on the Oklahoma Training Approval System and is considered approved training hours in compliance with Oklahoma DHS Licensing requirements. In addition, each of the modules meets the CDA Council’s recommended criteria for earning Continuing Educations Units (CEUs). Certificates will be awarded to students as they successfully complete each of the modules. The Special Needs Education Certificate will be awarded to students who successfully complete the entire series of special needs education modules as listed: Establishing, Fostering and Extending the Family Partnership; Behavior Management for the Child with Special Needs; Advanced Behavior Management for the Child with Special Needs; Characteristics of Children with Special Needs; Inclusion of Children with Special Needs; Caring for the Child with Autism; Caring for the Child with Autism II; Caring for the Child with Autism III; The Child with Speech and Language Disorders and the Language II – The Child with Language Disabilities.

Experienced early childhood professionals will share their favorite activities and ideas for encouraging learning through laughter, including silly songs, stories and language activities, math and science activities, and so much more! This event will also include a “make and take” session with participants creating items they can use with children right away. The entire training event will be held in a large group setting in the campus auditorium. Participants will need to bring their own scissors, markers and glue.
There will be vendors and exhibits to explore, lots of idea-packed handouts to gather, and great door prizes to win! The Child Care Resource Center Bookstore will be on-site. Lunches will be available for purchase on-site, or you may bring your own sack lunch and drink.
Enrollment is strictly limited to 135 participants and pre-registration is required. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for this event to be held Saturday, June 21 from 8:30 – 2:30 pm at the Tulsa Technology Center Peoria Campus located at 3850 North Peoria. (Tier II) 5 hours $20.
Center Administration and Management
This program is designed for administrators, directors and experienced caregiver staff. Students will receive required course textbook(s) at no additional cost. Successful completion of each of the 20-hour courses will earn the participant a certificate from the University of Oklahoma, College of Continuing Education for 20 clock hours and 2.0 CEUs of Child Care Director/Administrator training. Each of the courses are rated as Tier II training and is eligible for upgrading in its entirety to the Tier III status upon transfer and transcription of academic credit hours at Tulsa Community College.
Tulsa Technology Center can help you achieve the bronze level of the Oklahoma Director’s Credential based upon criteria supported by the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD).
To receive four academic hours at TCC, students must successfully complete and earn a letter grade of “C” or better in each of the following courses: Human Relations for Child Care Center Management, Program Development for Child Care Center Management, Director SURVIVOR Training, and Child Abuse Prevention for Center Directors. Tulsa Technology Center is making it more convenient than ever for your staff to obtain the most up-to-date training that complies not only with Oklahoma DHS Licensing requirements, but is considered approved Tier II training hours. In addition, all courses offered meet the CDA Council’s recommended criteria for earning continuing education units (CEUs) for CDA credential renewal.
Experience the training process at the pace, the place and the schedule that best suits your staff’s training needs. Each of the five hour courses listed below has the flexibility to be offered as a one-day training session or scheduled for several sessions…it is up to you! Your scheduling options include traditional evening, day or weekend hours.
A Tulsa Tech instructor will bring our “classroom” to your facility or any site of your choosing…even ours! Group sizes can range from 5 to 25 participants, offering you the opportunity to provide training to all or just part of your staff.
