CCRC Historical Timeline 1987 – Task Force Formed, CCRC begins with Referral Service
1988 – Child Care Food Program for Family Child Care Homes through USDA begins.
1992 – Judy Burton, CCRC Director, Retires
1992 – Move #1 - CCRC moves out of Community Service Council Building (1430 S. Boulder) into classrooms at Eisenhower Elementary.
1993 – United Way Venture Grant funds Toy Lending Library.
1995 – Move #2 - CCRC moves to F&M Bank Building, 17th and Sheridan, and is housed with Helpline, Babyline, and Planline, along with the Tulsa Children’s Coalition.
1996 – Whirlpool Foundation Grant expands Toy Lending and Resource Library.
1997 - Website launched.
1997 – Statewide R&R Network funded through Legislature – added Creek and Wagoner Counties to Service Area.
1997 – United Way Venture Grant funds Caring Hearts Network to recruit and train new family child care providers. Funding shifted to DHS in 1999.
1999 – Bank of America/United Way funds Success by 6®.
1999 – United Way Venture Grant funds “Quality Through Accreditation” to help child care centers achieve NAEYC accreditation.
2000 – Child Care Health Consultant hired with Expansion Grant from Success by 6.
2001 – Bright Horizons funds Community Child Care Network for UAW/Ford employees.
2002 – Move #3 - CCRC moves to new building at Admiral and Sheridan.
2004 – Liz Reece, Director of CCRC for 13 years, retires.
2004 – Rogers County added to Service area.
2005 – CCRC accepts donation of Bookstore from Friends of Early Education. Expands space to accommodate Bookstore, expanded Library, and expanded training room/conference facilities.
2005 – CCRC selected as Pilot site for “Mind in the Making”. “Raising a Reader” program begins in partnership with JumpStart. CCRC partners with local educators to bring back Fall Conference for Early Childhood professionals.
2005 - Infant/Toddler Enhancement Project funded through contract with OCCRRA.
2006 – LINK project (developmental screenings for young children) reorganizes under the CCRC umbrella.
2006 – CCRC receives grant from George Kaiser Family Foundation to expand the Quality Enhancement Initiative and fund a second Infant/Toddler Specialist.
2007 – Karen Smith hired as Director. ReadNow! added to CCRC programs, under the direction of Don Farr.
