Reimbursement Rates for Child Care Homes Providers who contract with a USDA Child Care Food Program will be reimbursed for the meals they serve. Rates are determined by the location of the provider's home or the income level of the provider herself. The rates listed below are effective from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.
Tier One - the higher reimbursement rate, is available to providers who live near an Elementary School which has 50% or more children enrolled who are eligible for Free or Reduced Price School Lunches. A provider may also qualify for Tier One by her family income, which must be at or below 185% of poverty level (for example, less than $2907 per month for a family of four). Click here for the list of elementary schools that qualify for Tier One status as of February 1, 2005. Tier Two - the lower reimbursement rate, is assigned to all providers who don't live near a qualifying elementary school or whose family income exceeds the amount allowed. While Tier Two is about half the reimbursement amount of Tier One, it is still income a provider can receive if she serves eligible meals and keeps the required paperwork. Family child care providers should definitely participate in the Food Program, as it can increase monthly income and improve the quality of their program. Check with our Food Program staff cmoore@ccrctulsa.org to see which Tier applies to your family child care home. back to top |
