CCRC Announces New Director The Community Service Council of Greater Tulsa (CSC) and the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) are pleased to announce that Karen Smith has been selected to oversee the Child Care Resource Center. Karen has a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Arkansas. Her Master's Thesis was "Family Involvement in Child Care Centers in Northwest Arkansas". She worked in child care centers in San Antonio, Texas, was a Program Specialist for Child Care Dallas (now the Child Care Group) where she worked with child care programs to improve quality. Karen has also worked as a Child Development Specialist for the Okmulgee County Health Department for ten years before coming to the Council. She will celebrate her 12th year with the Community Service Council where she most recently has been working with the Area Prevention Resource Center promoting early childhood and family support activities. Karen assumes the Director position from Jan Figart, Associate Director for CSC, who has served as Interim Director of CCRC for two and half years.
