2-4

| 1-4
Tbsp. fruit or vegetable (required) |
1-4 Tbsp. fruit or vegetable (required) |
2-4
fluid ounces of 100% fruit juice (instead of formula) |
| 1-4
Tbsp. infant cereal (required) - MUST be iron-fortified infant cereal
|
And ONE of the following is required:
2-4 Tbsp. infant cereal
1-4 Tbsp. meat, fish, poultry, egg yolk, cooked dry beans or peas
1/2 to 2 ounces of cheese
1-4 Tbsp. cottage cheese cheese food, cheese spread |
If you
serve formula, you can also add in:
1-1/2 slice of bread/toast
OR
0-2 crackers or teething biscuits
|
Step 2: Do you provide the FORMULA or does the parent?
(remember, if the parent supplies the breast milk, you CAN claim that child).
 |
I supply the formula: |
You can claim the infant for up to three meals
per day (two meals and a snack, or two snacks and a meal). You MUST
serve Iron-fortified Infant Cereal AND a fruit or a vegetable at all main
meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner). Snack can now be formula, or
100% full-strength fruit juice, and you may add in bread, teething biscuits or
crackers at snack (with the juice or formula).

Remember, MILK is NOT AN OPTION for an infant
under one year of age. If a child begins drinking milk before one year of
age, you must take that child OFF the Food Program until they turn ONE.
(But try to work with the parent to keep the child on formula until their first
birthday).
