Accreditation Facilitation Project Phase One In 1999, CCRC and the United Way of Tulsa kicked off a new program for Tulsa area child care centers. The "Quality Through Accreditation" project worked with 20 area child care centers to guide them through the NAEYC Accreditation process. The goal of the program was to increase the number of NAEYC Accredited programs in Tulsa. As of August 1999, only eight out of over 200 centers were NAEYC Accredited. In early 2002, that number had doubled, with 17 child care centers accredited by NAEYC.
The program included monthly director's meetings, monthly site visits and technical assistance. In addition, centers can apply for assistance with the fees to become accredited and mini-grants.
Through CCRC's Success by 6 program, thirteen child care centers became NAEYC Accredited. Each of these programs worked closely with our Accreditation Coordinator to achieve this level of quality. Those 13 programs were:
In 2002, QTA became a part of the Success by 6 Child Care Quality Enhancement Program.
In 2006, CCRC received a grant to expand the Accreditation Facilitation Project. Click here to learn more about this new initiative.
