ABOUT US Child Care Resource Center celebrated 20 years of service to the community in 2007! Click here to review the 20-year historical timeline of the Child Care Resource Center. The Child Care Resource Center is a program of the Community Service Council of Greater Tulsa, a 501-c(3) organization. CCRC was formed in 1987 in response to a citizen-led task force examining the needs of Tulsa's children.
The mission of the Child Care Resource Center is: To promote quality, affordable child care in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area through information sharing, advocacy, training, service development and education. CCRC seeks to do this by increasing public awareness, supporting consumers and providers of child care services, and improving policies and funding affecting them. CCRC currently employs a staff of over 35 child care professionals to support parents, child care providers and the community. Each staff member holds at least a bachelor's degree in early childhood, nutrition, or other related topics. In addition, several staff members hold advanced degrees in adult education and child development. CCRC is a member of the Oklahoma Child Care Resource & Referral Association, a statewide network of eight regional Child Care Resource and Referral agencies. The Association provides funding and support to help Child Care Resource Center offer quality child care resource and referral services to families, providers, businesses, and the community. OCCRRA also provides funding for the Child Care Health Consultant Project and the Infant/Toddler Enhancement Project. Funding is provided by the Oklahoma Child Care Services through the Child Care Development Block Grant. CCRC is also funded by the Oklahoma Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs, United Way of Greater Tulsa, the George Kaiser Family Foundation, SmartStart Oklahoma, other private grants, contracts and donations.
