MOVING CHILDREN FROM THE INFANT MEAL PATTERN TO THE REGULAR MEAL PATTERN

Once a child turns one year old, they can be moved to the Meal Pattern for children ages 1-12.  However, there are several things to consider when "transitioning" a child of this age.

1)  Is the child still drinking formula?

If the answer to this question is YES, the child needs to remain on the INFANT meal pattern and you still need to fill out the "Infant Meal Report".

2)  Is the child ready for (able to eat) all table foods?

If the answer to this question is NO, the child needs to remain on the INFANT meal pattern and you still need to fill out the "Infant Meal Report".

3)  Is the child eating all the foods the older children are eating,

        and drinking milk?

If YES, congratulations!  The child is ready to be moved to the older children's Meal Pattern.
