Child Care Health Consultant

What is a Child Care Health Consultant and what services do they offer?

• Conduct health and safety training
• Assistance in developing health policies
• Assess programs to promote healthy and safe child care environments
• Give assistance and answers by telephone
• Review immunization records for child care programs
• Assist in reducing outbreaks of illness
• Assist child care providers with nutrition information and feeding tips
• Help with behavioral issues in child care programs
• Parent education related to health and safety
• Assistance in care for children with special needs
• Referrals to community resources to promote health and safety of children in child care
