What is a Child Care Health Consultant and what services do they offer?
- Conduct health and safety training
- Assistance in developing health policies
- Assess programs to promote healthy and safe child care environments
- Give assistance and answers by telephone
- Review immunization records for child care programs
- Assist in reducing outbreaks of illness
- Assist child care providers with nutrition information and feeding tips
- Help with behavioral issues in child care programs
- Parent education related to health and safety
- Assistance in care for children with special needs
- Referrals to community resources to promote health and safety of children in child care
